Why Real Relationships Beat Seasonal Sponsorships
Discover how London beauty creator Maninder Sachdeva and SkinCeuticals turned Q4 marketing on its head with an intimate, community-first Diwali dinner at Tresind Mayfair.

When Q4 comes around, social media gets busy. Creator’s calendars are filling up and brands are fighting for space in a crowded festive market.
Here’s a look behind the scenes at how Maninder Sachdeva, the London based luxury beauty, fashion and lifestyle creator we’re proud to represent, brought his vision for an intimate Diwali dinner to life with SkinCeuticals.
For Maninder, hosting a Diwali event is a chance to celebrate his Sikh heritage with his community, around one table, over a meaningful dinner.
We wanted to find a partner worthy of that idea: a brand that sees cultural representation as a year round commitment, not a seasonal checklist.
Audiences can spot a forced sponsorship a mile away. This wasn’t one. Over the past year, we’ve worked alongside Maninder and SkinCeuticals to grow a genuine relationship, and the brand has championed him consistently along the way.
Maninder drew on his own relationships at Tresind Mayfair and his rapport with the brand to shape every detail of the evening. He put SkinCeuticals at the heart of the table, with a signature serum at every place setting.
So, why was this so successful?
Because it wasn't about a brand trying to insert itself into a cultural moment. It was about a brand supporting a creator who was already part of their world.
Maninder personally curated a guest list of 16 South Asian creators, bringing together people who shared a cultural connection, but each had their own audiences, perspectives and communities.
And crucially, SkinCeuticals' involvement didn't begin and end with Diwali. The brand had spent the past year building a genuine relationship with Maninder, championing him beyond cultural calendar moments.
Celebrating diversity shouldn't be a tick box exercise, and cultural relevance can't be manufactured through a one off campaign.
By giving Maninder the freedom to celebrate his heritage in his own way, SkinCeuticals became part of something meaningful, rather than simply putting its name against it.
The result was a room full of people who genuinely wanted to be there, content that people genuinely wanted to share, and brand visibility that extended organically.
The takeaway for brands? Don't just show up for cultural moments. Invest in the people and communities behind them, all year round.
By honouring tradition and letting real relationships lead, Maninder turned the busiest season of the year into an unforgettable night for his community, his audience and the brand. We couldn’t be prouder.
